Electric Charger

Hey all, my boyfriend and I like to work on our bikes and on our car when we have the time and money to upgrade performance car parts. I was online this morning checking out some different products when I saw an electric supercharger. It was significantly cheaper than your conventional supercharger AND it said you'd increase MPG. Is this believable or a scam? Because if it worked, and gave our car torque AND less time at the pumps, I AM IN!!

I owned one of these electronic superchargers and had it on a VW Beetle (2001), it made the engine louder, but it can damage your electrical system since it draws right from the battery, also if you have a stock ECU, it may think too much air is coming into the engine and shut down. I would highly recommend not using these electronic units in any rotary powered vehicles as it can lead to detonation in the rotors. For regular vehicles, its basically a little fan spinning around 100,000 rpms in an intake pipe leading to a large cone filter, and when we tested it on a dyno, it barely put out .8 PSI of boost. And for 500 bucks, might be a better idea to swap out your stock intake with a SPECTRE or K&N cone filter intake system.
